Chet Helms hanging out with Jim Hendrix

Chet Helms was a rock music promoter who presented many shows in San Francisco's psychedelic music scene of the 1960s. His company was known as Family Dog Productions. His main venue was the Avalon Ballroom on Van Ness Boulevard. He was a childhood friend of Janis Joplin. As teenagers, they drove to San Francisco together from their hometown of Port Arthur, Texas. - from Wikipedia
